On October 31, 2007, thirty people arrived in Halloween costumes on Fountain Square for a costume contest. Gracing our stage were Willy Wonka, KISS, Richard Simmons, Cruella deVil, several Superfriends, a Jedi knight, Lucille Ball, Lily Munster, Minerva McGonagall, Bret Michaels of Poison, a Greek statue (Big Bust), a Bengal fan, a hippie, a lion, a jellyfish, local favorite the Cool Ghoul, and the Ghostbusters in full gear with a tiny, 5-month-old Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man!

Representatives from Cappel's and the thrift stores of Goodwill and the St Vincent de Paul Society judged the costumes, choosing one winner in the categories of Most Creative, Scariest, Funniest, and Best Team Costume.

Emcee for the contest was Jessica Donnellon of Local 12's Good Morning Cincinnati.

Winners took home gift cards to Via Vite; show tickets from Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, the Know Theatre, and Funny Bone on the Levee; and a pizza party.
