Reds Opener WeekendOpening Day 2009 Date is TBAIn Cincinnati, Opening Day is a local holiday! On Fountain Square, we celebrate with a whole weekend of activities, starting on Saturday night with the official turning-on of the Tyler Davidson Fountain for the season. Prior to the Mayor "flipping the switch," bands play music and Cincinnatians enjoy one of the first parties of the year on the Square.
Monday, of course, is Opening Day. On Fountain Square, it's an all-day party with a rally by Local 12 and the traditional Findlay Market Reds Opening Day Parade in the morning. In the afternoon, we'll watch the game on Fountain Square's video screen, and Give Back Cincinnati - a volunteer organization for young professionals - continues the fun, adding live music in the evening. |
